About
Shannon Jiu-Jitsu Academy
Shannon Jiu-Jitsu Academy was established in 2017 by Jarek Bujnowski.
Jarek opened Shannon Jiu-Jitsu Academy as Shannon town's only BJJ school. It has quickly built a reputation as a friendly, fun and most importantly, professional gym for experienced practitioners as well as anyone (both man and women!) who are just starting their martial art journey.
We pride in quality. Our instructors are experienced and passionate for teaching.
We are also more than happy to invite your children to join our Academy to learn self-defence techniques, explore aspects of our anti-bullying program, improve overall fitness, discipline and make friends.
Shannon Jiu-Jitsu Academy is proudly affiliated with Berserkers Team Poland and Brasa Team Brazil.
Berserkes Team is the biggest and strongest by far BJJ team in Poland with multiple team trophy wins on Polish BJJ nationals and ADCC nationals.
Head coach of Berserkers Team - Piotr "BAGI" Bagiński is a BJJ 3rd degree Black Belt and a legend of his own. He is one of the very first Poles participating in BJJ, multiple medallists of World, European and Polish Championships. Despite his age, Piotr Bagiński is still a very active competitor (participating mainly in adults division) as well as leading his team towards victories.
Besides running the biggest BJJ/MMA academy in Poland BAGI has the privilege to be Polish National Grappling Team head coach and Polish National Jiu-Jitsu Ne-Waza head coach.
Brasa Team was formed in 2004. This team came together after one of the most surprising break-ups in the history of the sport. The split in Alliance Jiu Jitsu squad that laid the foundation for Brasa and later for a number of other teams that have grown to be among the strongest academies of the 21st century, such as Checkmat, or Zenith BJJ. The Brasa team had its heyday around the mid-2000’s decade through champions such as Ronaldo ‘Jacaré’ Souza, Robert Drysdale, Felipe Costa, Demian Maia, Rodrigo ‘Comprido’ and many others.
Felipe Costa is well known for his flawless technique, attention to detail and great teaching skills
Felipe is IBJJF 2003 World Champion. His success came as a surprise to most in the BJJ community as no other competitor had ever won a World Championship in the black belt division, without having ever placed on a podium of a major competition prior to receiving his black belt.
